Nvidia’s upcoming RTX 5090 graphics card has been partially revealed through leaked images. The images show the GPU die, which is expected to be Nvidia’s largest consumer-grade GPU since 2018. The die measures approximately 744 square millimeters, and its metal frame adds an additional 100 square millimeters. The overall package size is around 64mm x 59mm.
The RTX 5090 features a massive GPU with 21,760 CUDA cores in a single frame, making it a significant upgrade from the current flagship model, the RTX 4090. The GPU die is marked as a Qualification Sample, suggesting that it was used for validation testing before mass production.
The leaked images also reveal 32GB of GDDR7 memory, which can be upgraded to 48GB in the future if Nvidia decides to use 24Gb modules. This suggests that the RTX 5090 will have a significant boost in performance compared to its predecessors.
Nvidia is expected to debut the Blackwell lineup at CES next month, including the RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070 family. The company’s CEO Jensen is set to discuss pricing and performance on January 6.
