Nvidia has officially announced its RTX 50-series GPUs, marking a new era in gaming and graphics processing. The next-generation Blackwell GPUs boast impressive performance gains and innovative features such as RTX Neural Shaders, Multi Frame Generation, and real-time transformer-based AI.
The RTX 5090, priced at $1,999, is the flagship model of the series, featuring 32GB of GDDR7 memory, a massive 21,760 CUDA cores, and a power consumption of 575 watts. In contrast, the RTX 5080, with a recommended PSU requirement of 1000 watts, offers twice as fast performance as the RTX 4080.
Other models in the series include the RTX 5070 Ti, priced at $749, and the RTX 5070, priced at $549. The RTX 5070 Ti boasts faster performance than the RTX 4070 Ti, while the RTX 5070 is expected to deliver “RTX 4090-like” performance at a fraction of the cost.
Nvidia’s new laptops will also feature the RTX 50-series GPUs, offering improved gaming and graphics capabilities. The RTX 5090 laptop GPU boasts 24GB of GDDR7 memory, while the RTX 5080 laptop GPU features 16GB of GDDR7 memory.
In a demonstration at CES, Nvidia showcased its new AI-powered technologies, including RTX Neural Materials, RTX Neural Faces, and DLSS 4. The latter includes real-time transformer-based AI applications that improve image quality, reduce ghosting, and add higher detail in motion.
The RTX 50-series GPUs mark the beginning of a new chapter in Nvidia’s GPU evolution, offering significant performance gains and innovative features that will revolutionize gaming and graphics processing.
