Nvidia’s AI Push Boosts Asian Chip Shares

Nvidia Corp. CEO Jensen Huang has announced new products featuring the company’s Blackwell chips at the CES trade show, renewing optimism over AI demand. This sparked gains in Asian chip-related shares, including suppliers and partners of Nvidia.

Nvidia’s unveilings have boosted the performance of companies related to its products. In Japan, several suppliers jumped by at least 6% due to anticipation of keynotes from Huang. These include Tokyo Electron Ltd., Advantest Corp., Disco Corp., and Lasertec Corp.

In Taiwan, an assembly partner of Nvidia, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., rose as much as 4.1%. The country’s largest chipmaker, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., also experienced a significant increase of up to 3.1%.

The renewed optimism over AI demand is a result of Huang’s announcements and is reflected in the positive performance of these Asian companies.
