Nvidia’s Compact RTX 5090 Founders Edition Compatible with Mini ITX Cases

Nvidia’s latest graphics card, the $2,000 RTX 5090 Founders Edition, has been confirmed to be compatible with the company’s Small Form Factor (SFF) ready program. This means that users can build a gaming PC in a compact case, roughly the size of a shoebox.

The SFF ready program was launched last year and aims to simplify the process of choosing graphics cards for mini ITX cases, which often struggle to fit larger components. The program offers a compatibility tool that ensures case and graphics card partners have verified their products are compatible with each other.

While only select models like the RTX 4090 and some RTX 4080/4080 Super cards were previously compatible, Nvidia has updated its SFF ready database to include new RTX 5000 series models. The RTX 5090 Founders Edition is now listed alongside partner cards like the Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 5080 SOLID CORE.

The compact RTX 5090 will be available for $1,999 and comes with 32GB of GDDR7 memory. A smaller sibling, the RTX 5070 Ti, will follow in February for $749. To take full advantage of the powerful GPU, AMD has announced a compatible processor – the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, which boasts faster content creation performance and better gaming capabilities than Intel’s Core Ultra 9 285K.

This compact yet powerful setup is a remarkable achievement, and we’ll continue to cover the latest hardware launches and announcements from CES this week.
