NYC Man Arrested After Multiple Stabbings Killing Three

A suspect is in custody after carrying out a series of random stabbings in Manhattan on Monday morning, killing three people. The suspect, 51 years old, had been sentenced in a criminal case and was arrested for a grand larceny case last month.

According to authorities, the attacker walked up to his victims without uttering a word, using two kitchen knives to carry out the attacks. The victims were from different age groups, including a 36-year-old construction worker, a 68-year-old man who was fishing in the East River, and a 36-year-old woman near the United Nations headquarters.

The attacker’s motive for the stabbings is still unclear, but investigators are working to determine what led him to commit such violent acts. The Mayor of New York City has called the violence “a clear example” of failures in the criminal justice system.

This incident comes amid rising crime rates in New York City, with serious assaults up 12% and killings down 14% in two years. A similar attack occurred at a subway station just weeks ago, drawing attention to the growing concern over public safety in the city.
