Oasis kicked off a reunion tour in Cardiff, Wales on Friday after a 16-year hiatus, treating fans to a powerful and punchy setlist that drew heavily from its iconic songbook. The band, which was led by the famously feuding Gallagher siblings Noel and Liam, performed to a deafening roar in front of a crowd of over 60,000 at the Principality Stadium.
The show marked a major milestone for the British rock legends, who have been on hiatus since their acrimonious split in 2009. Fans traveled from around the world to see the band perform together again, with many citing it as an emotional and special experience.
Noel and Liam took turns performing lead vocals and guitar duties, respectively, and the brothers’ chemistry was still palpable despite their long-standing feud. The setlist included hits like “Supersonic,” “Roll With It,” and “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star,” which sparked mass sing-alongs and left the crowd in awe.
The reunion tour will also feature former Oasis members Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs and Gem Archer on guitar, bassist Andy Bell, and drummer Joey Waronker. The band has announced a 19-date Live ’25 tour in the UK and Ireland, with stops in North America, South America, Asia, and Australia.
While there were some ticketing issues due to high demand, fans are thrilled to see the band perform live again. As one fan said, “It’s very, very special — emotional.” The reunion is being presented as a one-off tour, with no plans for new music releases.
