Ohio State Names Brian Hartline As New OC

Ohio State has announced plans to promote Brian Hartline as its primary offensive coordinator, replacing Chip Kelly. A former Buckeyes standout wide receiver and current assistant coach, Hartline will also handle playcalling duties. He previously served as co-offensive coordinator last season under Kelly and was the team’s OC in 2023.

Hartline played for Ohio State from 2006 to 2008 before entering the NFL draft. Since returning to his alma mater, he has overseen one of the nation’s top wide receiver rooms, producing five first-round draft picks in the past three drafts. The new coaching staff also includes offensive analyst Billy Fessler and line coach Tyler Bowen.
