Ohio State students flooded the campus after the Buckeyes secured the College Football Playoff national title late Monday night. The bitter cold temperatures didn’t deter them, and chants of “O-H,” “I-O!” filled the air as they made their way to the gates of Ohio Stadium.
By midnight, students had successfully forced their way into the stadium. Thomas Schmnasky, a freshman, said he was surprised to find himself on the field after the game, describing the scene as “surreal.” Natalie Freihammer, a senior, praised the police for being supportive, saying she was surprised by how much enthusiasm they showed.
The atmosphere inside the stadium was electric, with fans enjoying the moment and taking photos with police officers. By 12:20 a.m., most students had filed out, leaving behind a sea of Buckeye pride and excitement after Ohio State’s historic victory.
