Oilers Head Back to Stanley Cup Final for Second Consecutive Year

Edmonton Advances to Stanley Cup Final, Seeks First Championship in 32 Years

The Edmonton Oilers are set to face off against the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final for the second consecutive year. This marks the first time in League history that the same teams will appear in the final two years in a row. The Oilers, who finished third in the Pacific Division, will start the series at home due to their higher regular-season point total.

In their playoff run, the Oilers defeated the Dallas Stars 6-3 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final and also took down the Los Angeles Kings in six games and the Vegas Golden Knights in five games. Connor McDavid once again made a crucial play, scoring a breakaway goal to put the Oilers up by two goals with just over a minute left in the third period against the Stars.

The Panthers, who will be starting at home this series, had a strong regular season, finishing one point behind the Oilers. This marks a familiar test for the Oilers, who lost to the Panthers in seven games last season after dropping their first three games.
