Oilers Stun Panthers in Overtime, Tie Series 2-2

The Edmonton Oilers made history with a thrilling comeback win over the Florida Panthers, tying the Stanley Cup Final up 2-2. Down by three goals at one point, the Oilers staged an incredible rally to force overtime, where Leon Draisaitl scored the winning goal.

In Game 4, the Panthers took an early 3-0 lead, but the Oilers responded with three unanswered goals, including two in the second period, to tie the game 3-3. Edmonton’s defense then came up big, as Jake Walman gave the team a 4-3 lead with just over six minutes left. However, Sam Reinhart tied it up with 19.5 seconds remaining, sending the game into overtime.

Draisaitl, who has had success in overtime this postseason, scored just over 11 minutes into the extra period to seal the win for Edmonton. The 29-year-old German’s record-breaking fourth OT goal in a single postseason gives the Oilers a chance to regain momentum in the series.

With the win, Edmonton becomes the first team in 106 years to come back from a three-goal deficit and win on the road in the Stanley Cup Final series. This marks only the sixth time in NHL history that a team has successfully overcome a three-goal deficit to win a Stanley Cup Final game.

The Oilers will look to build on this momentum as they head back to Rogers Place in Edmonton for Game 5 against the Panthers on Saturday.
