Omnicom Group in Advanced Talks to Acquire Interpublic Group

Omnicom Group is reportedly in advanced talks to buy Interpublic Group, a move that would create the world’s largest advertising company. According to The Wall Street Journal, a transaction could be announced as early as this week.

The all-stock agreement, valued at $13-14 billion excluding debt, would significantly increase Interpublic’s market value. If successful, the combined company would have net revenue of over $20 billion per year, surpassing WPP as the industry leader.

As the world’s third-largest ad company by revenue, Omnicom already boasts a strong portfolio of agencies, including BBDO and TBWA. The acquisition would also bring together Madison Avenue’s top advertising agencies under one umbrella.

Omnicom’s clients include major brands like Disney, Amazon, AT&T, and PepsiCo, while Interpublic’s roster includes L’OrĂ©al, Johnson & Johnson, and Geico. The deal has yet to be confirmed by Omnicom or Interpublic, but it is expected to be a significant move in the advertising industry.
