OnePlus is set to release two new phones on January 7, the OnePlus 13 and its mid-range sibling, the OnePlus 13R. These devices will compete directly with Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 lineup. The OnePlus 13 boasts a class-leading Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 2K-resolution display with a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance.
The device features three color options: Black Eclipse, Arctic Dawn, and Midnight Ocean. Its display is also DisplayMate-rated A++, an independent display rating organization. The phone will be available in the mentioned colors at launch.
In comparison, the OnePlus 13R has a triple-camera system, a 6,000mAh battery, and Gorilla Glass 7i on both front and rear panels. It features a unique flat display design with a thickness of 8mm. Two color options, Nebula Noir and Astral Trail, will be available for the phone.
The pricing of these devices has not been announced yet, but rumors suggest that the OnePlus 13 could cost similar to or slightly more than its predecessor, the OnePlus 12. The launch event on January 7 is expected to reveal the official prices for both phones. This marks the first time OnePlus has confirmed the existence of the OnePlus 13R, a new addition to their lower-end flagship series.
