OnePlus 13 Gets Android 16 Beta 2, But Be Cautious

OnePlus has made Android 16 Beta 2 available to its developers and advanced users. The update is the first time a beta version of a new OS has been offered to the public on the OnePlus 13.

To test the new software, users must follow the detailed upgrade guide provided by the company. However, it’s essential to note that this upgrade isn’t for inexperienced or daily-use devices, as it comes with notable bugs and issues. These include lag, display problems in certain scenarios, and a risk of “bricking” the phone if not followed correctly.

Before proceeding, users must ensure their device meets the necessary requirements: at least 30% battery, more than 4GB storage space, and running software version 15.0.0.703 or below. Additionally, OnePlus 13 phones on certain carriers are incompatible with Android 16 Beta 2.

The company warns users that following the upgrade manual carefully is crucial to avoid potential issues. It’s also worth noting that this beta version of Android 16 hasn’t been released for Pixel phones, which currently run Android 16 Beta 3.
