OnePlus is set to launch its latest flagship, the OnePlus 13, globally on January 7. The device has been shrouded in rumors, with many speculating that it would be a rebranded version of the recently launched OnePlus Ace 5 in China.
However, recent developments have shed new light on the device’s camera capabilities. According to a report from Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh), the OnePlus 13R is expected to feature a triple-camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.
The selfie camera on the device will be equipped with a 16MP shooter. In contrast, the OnePlus Ace 5 in China has a similar camera configuration, minus the telephoto lens, which is replaced by a macro sensor.
This suggests that the international launch of the OnePlus 13R could have a more advanced camera system than its Chinese counterpart. The device’s battery capacity, however, is reportedly lower than expected.
While some might view this as a drawback, others might see it as an opportunity to differentiate their product from competitors like Realme and Oppo. With the GT6 already featuring a 2x telephoto lens, it remains to be seen whether the OnePlus 13R’s camera capabilities will make a significant difference.
Stay tuned for further updates on the OnePlus 13 launch and its features.
