OnePlus has officially launched its first foldable device in October 2023. Although it was well-received by consumers and critics alike, the company is now gearing up to release a sequel. Recent images of Oppo’s Find N5 foldable have hinted that this device will be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2 for the US market.
The Find N5 appears to be extremely thin, rivaling the iPhone 16 Pro Max in thickness when unfolded. While this slim design provides an ideal in-hand experience, it raises concerns about durability and potential damage to the charging port. Oppo claims that the Find N5 is the thinnest foldable on the market, which may not necessarily align with consumer expectations for larger battery sizes and camera sensors.
While a happy middle ground between thinness and substance is needed, the original OnePlus Open already boasts impressive slenderness. The upcoming Open 2 will be put to the test as consumers eagerly await its release to determine whether it offers significant improvements over its predecessor.
