The popular comedy-mystery series “Only Murders in the Building” is back for its fifth season, premiering on September 9th. The new season follows Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Selena Gomez as they team up to solve a murder mystery that shook their New York apartment complex.
The story takes a dark turn when the trio’s doorman, Lester, dies under mysterious circumstances. Charles (Martin), Oliver (Short), and Mabel (Gomez) refuse to accept the police report, instead digging deeper into the truth behind Lester’s death.
As they investigate, they uncover a “dangerous web of secrets” connecting powerful billionaires, old-school mobsters, and mysterious residents of the Arconia. The team also notices a changing New York, where the mob is struggling to hold onto power as new players emerge.
The season boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Meryl Streep, Michael Cyril Creighton, and Renée Zellweger, among others. Created by Martin Short and John Hoffman, “Only Murders in the Building” has become a critical success, earning 56 Emmy nominations and 7 wins across its first four seasons.
