Open Championship 2025 Cut Line Tracker Emerges After Round 1

The 156-golfer field at Royal Portrush is down to a five-way tie atop the leaderboard, leaving only one question: will they make the cut? USA TODAY Sports tracked the projected cut line during Thursday’s first round and provides an update on notable golfers in danger of missing the cut.

As of now, all golfers with a score of +1 or better would make it through to the weekend at the 2025 Open Championship. The Data Golf model projects a 39.8% chance of the cut line landing at +2 by Friday and a 33.3% chance that the cut line will end up at +3.

Among the golfers competing for a spot on the leaderboard, notable names like Brooks Koepka, Collin Morikawa, and Jordan Spieth are in danger after shaky performances during Round 1. On the other hand, golfers with scores of -4, such as Jacob Skov Olesen, Haotong Li, Matt Fitzpatrick, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Harris English, and Scottie Scheffler, are well-positioned to make the cut.

The stage is set for a wide-open second round at Royal Portrush. Stay tuned for further updates on the Open Championship 2025 leaderboard and projection of the cut line.
