Open-Source Telegram OSINT Tool Tosint Helps Combat Cybercrime

A new open-source tool, Tosint, is helping security researchers and law enforcement agencies gather insights from Telegram sources to combat cybercrime. Created by Andrea Draghetti, head of threat intelligence at D3Lab, Tosint analyzes and tracks cybercriminals involved in phishing attacks.

The tool extracts critical information from Telegram channels or groups used by criminals to exchange stolen credentials, malware logs, and more. It provides detailed data on bot information, chat details, and additional information such as administrators’ roles and user counts.

Tosint’s capabilities include identifying channel names, invite links, and administrator usernames. By tracking these details, users can observe how cybercriminals adapt their operations and target changes in phishing and malware attacks.

The tool relies on Telegram’s official APIs and is regularly updated by Draghetti. It is now available for free on GitHub, making it a valuable resource for security professionals seeking to combat cybercrime.
