OpenAI has launched an app directory for ChatGPT, allowing users to browse and access various tools and services directly within the chatbot’s UI. This move brings the company closer to its goal of making ChatGPT a comprehensive “everything app” that integrates with popular services like Apple Music and DoorDash.
Users can now discover new apps and services through the app directory, including ones launched in October for Spotify, Zillow, and other services. New additions include an Apple Music app that enables users to find music, manage playlists, and access their subscribers’ music libraries within the chatbot. The DoorDash app allows users to turn recipe inspiration into actionable shopping carts.
While this development marks a significant step towards making ChatGPT a profitable business, OpenAI has not yet explained how it plans to monetize its AI services.
