OpenAI has partnered with Future, a prominent publisher of various websites and magazines, including Tom’s Guide, PC Gamer, and Marie Claire. The agreement will give ChatGPT users access to news and lifestyle content from over 200 media brands under Future’s umbrella.
This partnership comes as OpenAI continues to expand its content licensing deals, following recent agreements with major publishers such as Vox Media, News Corp, Dotdash Meredith, Axel Springer, the Financial Times, and The Atlantic. Notably, some publishers like The New York Times, The Intercept, and Canadian outlets have sued OpenAI over allegations of copyright infringement.
The partnership with Future is designed to further integrate OpenAI’s technology into existing content platforms. Future plans to utilize OpenAI’s AI chatbots for sales, marketing, and editorial purposes. According to OpenAI’s chief operating officer Brad Lightcap, the deal aims to enhance ChatGPT’s experience by providing users with a broader range of engaging and reliable information from specialist sources.
The partnership is part of OpenAI’s effort to benefit both publishers and content creators by leveraging advanced AI technology to expand their reach.
