Laughter filled the air on March 20 as New York City’s Broadway welcomed Operation Mincemeat, a musical transfer from its Olivier-winning West End show. The event brought together stars including Dylan Mulvaney, Samuel L. Jackson, and Julie Klausner to celebrate the new production.
Based on a true World War II scheme, the musical tells the story of British Intelligence officials who dressed up a corpse as an officer to deceive the German government about an Allied attack on Sicily. The show’s wacky tale was developed by UK comedy group SpitLip, featuring music by Felix Hagan and performances by its original cast members.
The production boasts an all-star cast, including Claire-Marie Hall and Jak Malone, who won a 2024 Olivier Award for his performance. Director Robert Hastie reunites his full London creative team from the West End show, which had premiered in 2023. With its unique blend of comedy and espionage, Operation Mincemeat is set to bring laughter and entertainment to Broadway audiences.
