Oppo Unveils Ultra-Thin Foldable Phone with Best-In-Class Water Resistance

Oppo has released photos of its upcoming Find N5 foldable phone, which promises to be one of the thinnest on the market. The device is barely thicker than its USB-C port, measuring a mere 39 sticky notes in thickness. According to Oppo’s series product manager Zhou Yibao, the obstacle to making it thinner is now “the limit of the charging port.”

The Find N5 boasts IPX9-rated water resistance, meaning it can withstand high-temperature and high-pressure jets of water, as well as submersion in water up to a certain depth. This level of protection is rare among foldable phones, with only a few models currently available.

If Oppo rebrands the phone as the OnePlus Open 2 for its US release, it could pose significant competition to Samsung and Google’s current generation of foldables. The device will launch in China next month, marking an exciting development in the world of foldable technology.
