Oppo’s Find N5 Boasts World Record Thinness in Foldable Phones

Oppo has confirmed a February 20 global launch for its Find N5 foldable phone, claiming it as the world’s thinnest device in this category. The phone is set to be re-released as the OnePlus Open 2 in the US.

The company has been teasing the device, highlighting its waterproofing and nearly invisible display crease. Oppo compares its thickness to Apple devices like the iPad Pro, which is currently the thinnest iOS device. Reports suggest the Find N5 measures around 4mm in thickness, beating the Honor Magic V3’s 4.35mm.

The trailer showcases additional features, including a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and cut-down camera bump. The device comes in Cosmic Black and Misty White colors, but not the exclusive Twilight Purple color for the Chinese market.

The smartphone industry is currently obsessed with thinness, following Samsung’s recent reveal of its super-thin Galaxy S25 Edge. Rumors suggest Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air will be even thinner, measuring 5.5mm at its thinnest point. This would mark a significant reduction from the iPhone 6’s 6.9mm thickness and the introduction of more space for battery, camera lenses, and Face ID hardware in later models.
