A24 has acquired the rights to Eric Puchner’s novel “Dream State”, which will be adapted into a TV series. The book, published this week by Doubleday, follows 50 years of Montana’s history and explores themes of past mistakes and their impact on individuals and society. Written with humor and precision, “Dream State” is a story about the power of friendship, marriage, and impermanence.
The project will be produced by Gloria Sanchez Productions, with Flora Birnbaum (Russian Doll, Impeachment: American Crime Story) serving as showrunner and Sam Sackeroff adapting the novel. A24 has also acquired rights to other notable TV projects, including HBO’s Euphoria and Hulu’s Ramy.
Eric Puchner is a notable author, known for his PEN/Faulkner Award-nominated book “Model Home” and short story collections like “Last Day on Earth”. The new project marks another significant addition to A24’s growing list of TV productions.
