Oregon Man Wins $328.5 Million Powerball Jackpot

A 79-year-old Oregon man, Abbas Shafii, has been identified as the winner of a massive $328.5 million Powerball drawing in January. Shafii, from Beaverton, purchased the jackpot-winning ticket at a Fred Meyer store and opted for the lump-sum option, receiving $146.4 million.

Shafii plans to use his prize money to travel, invest, and donate to non-profit organizations close to his heart. Store chain Fred Meyer will receive a $100,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket and has announced a $50,000 donation to the Oregon Food Bank.

The state lottery advises future winners to consult with a financial professional to manage their winnings. Lottery tickets can be purchased in person at various locations or ordered online through Jackpocket, an official digital lottery courier available in several US states and territories.
