A wave of anti-Tesla vandalism is sweeping across the US, with reports surfacing in multiple states, including Colorado, California, and Massachusetts. In Oregon, a man named Adam Matthew Lansky was arrested after police linked him to two separate incidents at the Salem Tesla Center. Surveillance footage shows Lansky throwing Molotov cocktails at the dealership on January 20, and allegedly firing multiple firearm rounds into the building and vehicle on February 19. The vandalism has left drivers like Alex Lopez feeling fearful for their property.
Lopez, a Tesla owner in the Portland area, expressed his concerns after noticing a growing dislike of Tesla drivers. “Every time I get back in my car, I’m in fear of somebody scratching or slashing it just because it’s a Tesla.” While no local vandalism incidents have been reported by Tesla Owners Oregon, Lopez and other drivers are worried about their safety.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to recent criticism over federal cuts through his platform, tweeting that damaging property is not free speech. The incident has sparked concerns among Tesla owners, who value the eco-friendly benefits of their vehicles. Despite the vandalism, many drivers remain committed to owning Teslas, citing environmental reasons and cost savings on gas.
