More than 4,200 aid trucks have entered the Gaza Strip since a ceasefire began between Israel and Palestinian militants Hamas six days ago. The United Nations reported a significant drop in the number of loads delivered on Friday compared to previous days. From Sunday to Thursday, the number of trucks entering Gaza was 339, 915, 897, 808, and 653 respectively.
The truce agreement requires at least 600 truckloads daily for the first six weeks, with half meant for Gaza’s northern border, a region where experts warn famine is imminent. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs confirmed these figures, citing Israeli authorities and guarantors including the U.S., Egypt, and Qatar.
