Over 64,000 Pounds of Butter Recalled Due to Undeclared Allergen

A voluntary recall has been issued for over 64,000 pounds of butter due to the presence of an undeclared allergen. Bunge North America initiated the recall on July 14 for its NH European Style Butter Blend, which contained milk without declaring it as an allergen on the label. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has labeled the recall a Class II, indicating a moderate risk level.

The affected butter was shipped to distribution centers in 12 US locations and one in the Dominican Republic. Consumers can identify the recalled product by its product code, UPC, and lot code. Those who have purchased this butter are advised to discard it or return it for a refund.

This recall is part of a growing string of food-related issues across the US. Earlier this week, High Noon Hard Seltzers were recalled due to labeling errors, while single-serve coffee pods from New Mexico Piñon Coffee were also pulled from shelves over concerns about potential food coloring contamination.
