Overcoming Running Injuries with Weight Training

After sustaining injuries that forced me to stop running, my physical therapist told me I needed to start strength training. The goal was to build muscle and bone density to protect myself from further injury.

Like many runners, I initially avoided weightlifting due to its reputation for being boring. However, after 50 years of avoiding the subject, I realized it was time to take action. With my physical therapist’s guidance, I began learning about different exercises like deadlifts and shoulder presses. Now, I’m on a mission to create an effective strength training program that will help me recover from injuries and improve my overall running performance.
