Blizzard Entertainment has announced plans to overhaul Overwatch 2 with significant changes to the game’s PvP experience, set to launch in 2025. The upcoming changes will bring “groundbreaking” adjustments that will be unlike anything players have seen before.
A livestream scheduled for February 12, 2025, at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. GMT, will provide an in-depth overview of the developer’s plans to revitalize the game. Fans can expect to see changes to the game’s structure, new heroes, maps, and content.
The studio has hinted that these changes are necessary to address player engagement and interest, which have been lower than expected lately. With the rise of Marvel Rivals, a direct competitor in the free-to-play PvP hero shooter market, Blizzard is aiming to improve Overwatch 2’s offerings to stay competitive.
Additionally, players who participate in the livestream by watching a select group of content creators test out the changes firsthand will receive exclusive rewards, including the Cyber DJ Legendary Lucio skin.
