A recent study found that low doses of diabetes medication Ozempic significantly reduced weekly alcohol cravings in adults with alcohol use disorder. The results showed that 40% of participants reported no heavy drinking days, while those who received a placebo experienced more frequent cravings and heavy drinking episodes. Additionally, a small subgroup of participants who took the drug also saw a reduction in cigarette use.
