Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary lead singer of Black Sabbath, has passed away at the age of 76. According to his death certificate, obtained by the New York Times, he died from cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, and Parkinson’s disease.
Osbourne recently performed his final concert with the band in Birmingham, England on July 5, which was hosted by Jason Momoa. He will be survived by his wife Sharon, daughters Kelly and Aimee, and son Jack, as well as multiple children from previous marriages.
The Black Sabbath frontman had expressed his desire to be buried near a lake on his 250-acre property in a private memorial. A huge floral tribute was set up at the mansion with the words “OZZY F—ING OSBOURNE” spelled out. The guests who attended included long-time guitarist Zakk Wylde, Rob Zombie, and Marilyn Manson.
Osbourne had shared his wishes for his funeral in a 2011 column for The Times, stating that he wanted it to be a celebration rather than a sad occasion. He also joked about wanting pranks played during the service, including the sound of knocking inside the coffin.
