The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that temporary speed limit restrictions have been lifted on several roads, allowing drivers to resume normal speeds.
However, PennDOT crews continue to work on treating roadways, prioritizing keeping them passable rather than completely clear of snow and ice.
To ensure a safe journey, drivers are advised to give plow trucks plenty of space when passing by, never attempting to overtake them while they’re spreading winter materials or clearing snow.
PennDOT recommends assembling an emergency kit in vehicles, including:
– Non-perishable food
– Water
– Blanket
– Small shovel
– Warm clothes
For passengers with special needs, drivers should also include essential items such as baby food, pet supplies, or medications.
