Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton Plays Through Injury in NBA Finals

Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton played through an injury in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, with coach Rick Carlisle confirming that he’s not 100 percent. The star guard suffered a lower-leg injury that re-aggravated from Game 2 and was held to just four points in 34 minutes.

Haliburton insisted on playing despite experiencing lower-calf tightness at halftime, citing his desire to help the team compete. Despite having a good second half, he struggled with the injury, going 0-6 from the field. However, coach Carlisle praised Haliburton’s efforts, saying that “he made a lot of really good things happen in the second half.”

Meanwhile, Thunder small forward Jalen Williams had an excellent game to put Oklahoma City one win away from its first title. The Pacers will need a better performance from Haliburton if they hope to force a Game 7 on Sunday. With their season on the line, Haliburton is determined to play in Game 6 and respond with a better effort.

Haliburton’s words echoed his pride in playing at home and facing the energy of his fans. “If you lose, your season is over,” he said. “We’re going to have to respond and be better.” The team will need to come together if they want to force a Game 7 on Sunday.
