Green Bay Packers defeated the Seattle Seahawks 30-13 on Sunday night, extending their winning streak to eight in ten games. Quarterback Jordan Love threw for 229 yards and two touchdowns, including a memorable catch by Romeo Doubs that sealed the victory.
The Packers’ victory snapped the Seahawks’ four-game winning streak and ended Geno Smith’s season with a knee injury. Smith was hit low by Edgerrin Cooper and limped off the field in the third quarter, replaced by Sam Howell. The Seahawks trailed 20-3 at halftime but scored three points late in the fourth quarter before Doubs put the game away.
Love praised his teammates for their execution, saying “we just felt like we weren’t getting much out of it… To kind of have some of those drives stall out and then to put a drive down the field and finish with that touchdown definitely helps you be able to breathe a little bit better.” The Packers’ defense also played a crucial role in the win, forcing three turnovers by Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith.
The loss drops the Seahawks into a first-place tie with the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West. Coach Mike Macdonald said the team will undergo scans on Monday to assess Smith’s knee injury, which could impact their chances of winning the division. The Packers remain in contention for a playoff spot and are looking to build momentum as they head into their next game against New Orleans on December 23.
