Packers’ Josh Jacobs Leads Ground Game to Shutout Victory

The Green Bay Packers’ ground game was on full display during their 34-0 shutout of the New Orleans Saints at Lambeau Field. Running back Josh Jacobs set the tone for the team, rushing for 69 yards on 13 carries and scoring a touchdown.

However, it wasn’t just Jacobs who made an impact. Top reserves Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks added to the dominance, rushing for 75 combined yards on 17 carries. The trio became the first set of Green Bay running backs to each score a rushing touchdown in the same game since December 27, 2009.

“It’s very special,” said Wilson, who had 11 carries for 52 yards with a fourth-quarter TD. “It’s pretty cool to see Chris get his first one; Josh is always going to get his.”

The Packers’ ground game was efficient, with nine different ball carriers contributing to the team’s 188 rushing yards. Tight end Tucker Kraft even added two yards on a sneak play.

In the second half, Jacobs rested up, allowing Wilson and Brooks to shine. The trio’s performance marked a significant moment for the team, as it secured their fifth playoff berth in Head Coach Matt LaFleur’s six seasons.

“It was weird, honestly,” Jacobs said about sitting out most of the second half. “I give all the credit to my teammates. We come in each day, work hard, and try to get better.”
