The Green Bay Packers secured a convincing 34-0 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Monday night, with RB Josh Jacobs playing a pivotal role in their dominant performance.
In the first half, Jacobs led two touchdown drives that spanned 17 plays and 96 yards. His team-leading 14th touchdown of the season came late in the second quarter after the Packers drove to the red zone.
The drive began with an incomplete pass and a 4-yard run by Jacobs, but they moved forward when the Saints jumped offside on third down. Jacobs then had two successful runs before quarterback Jordan Love hit WR Romeo Doubs for 15 yards, setting up another first down near midfield.
Love’s subsequent drives showcased his poise under pressure, with the QB taking care of fourth-down conversions and finding open receivers. Jacobs capped off a 21-yard rollout to TE Tucker Kraft in the red zone, before scoring the touchdown himself.
Jacobs’ performance marked a season high for Green Bay in all categories, including yards gained per play and overall time on the field. His 14 touchdowns this season now equal the mark set by Packers players in their first year with the team.
