Palestinian Filmmaker’s Time-Bending Short Film Debut on Watermelon+

A short film that manipulates time, “Mobius Loop”, is now available on Watermelon+, a new streaming service from the Watermelon Pictures production company. Created by filmmaker Lee Mosa-Peterkin and shot in California over three days, the film follows three generations of a Palestinian family across different time periods.

The film, which explores themes of technology, legacy, and identity, was initially planned due to the Gaza war’s outbreak in October 2023. Despite technical challenges, including capturing three distinct eras within a short timeframe, Mosa-Peterkin successfully brought his vision to life.

Mobius Loop has gained recognition at various film festivals, including the Hollywood Arab Film Festival, Micheaux Film Festival, and LA Shorts International Film Festival. Its acquisition by Watermelon Pictures is a significant milestone for the production company, which aims to highlight Palestinian stories.

The film’s release on Watermelon+ marks an exciting new chapter in Mosa-Peterkin’s career, with plans to expand his work to feature films centered around Palestinian narratives.
