A 42-year-old Palestinian suspect, Hicham Harb, has been arrested in the occupied West Bank, according to France’s National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office. The arrest comes decades after a deadly attack on a Jewish restaurant in Paris in 1982. Harb is suspected of leading five other attackers in the gun assault that killed six and injured 22 others. The arrest was made possible by France’s decision to recognize an independent Palestinian state, which allowed for international cooperation. Harb faces charges of murder and attempted murder in connection with the attack, which remains one of the deadliest anti-Semitic attacks in French history.
