Palworld developer Pocketpair is set to release Feybreak tomorrow, a new update that promises a surprise crossover with popular game Terraria. The upcoming update will include Terraria’s Meowmere sword and a series of exciting features.
Feybreak will introduce a “hardcore mode” to the game, which includes two challenging settings: permadeath for Pals and permadeath for the player. This means that players can enable either or both settings to increase the difficulty level of the game. For fans of Pokémon, this is similar to the Nuzlocke challenge, where players aim to catch every Pokémon without repeating any.
Another new feature in Feybreak is the ability to form adventuring parties with Pals and send them out to explore dungeons and bring back resources. However, it’s unclear if this mechanic will put Pals at risk of permadeath.
The update also includes a new boss fight featuring Bjorn, as well as new facilities for Pals to operate in their base. Additionally, players can expect new lands to explore and new Pals to befriend.
Palworld developer Pocketpair has been working hard on the game’s development despite ongoing pressure from Nintendo. The upcoming Feybreak update will provide a good comparison point with the Sakurajima update, which offered insight into how impactful Nintendo’s efforts have been on Palworld’s developers.
