Panthers Release Josey Jewell Amid Concussion Protocol

The Carolina Panthers have released starting inside linebacker Josey Jewell from his contract due to concussion protocol. The 30-year-old signed a three-year deal worth $22.75 million in March 2024 but will now focus on recovery, out of consideration for his teammates. Jewell was acquired by the team last season and made 97 tackles despite missing two games at the end of the year. Christian Rozeboom is likely to replace him alongside Trevin Wallace.
