Park City Ski Patrol Union Reaches Tentative Agreement with Resort

Park City Mountain and the Park City Professional Ski Patrol Association (PCPSPA) have reached a tentative agreement, bringing an end to the strike that began on December 27. The union, representing over 200 ski patrollers and safety staff, was seeking increased wages and benefits, with base wages rising from $21 to $23 per hour.

The strike coincided with peak holiday ski traffic, causing frustration among skiers and riders who had to wait in long lines for access to the mountain, which saw less than 20% of terrain open at times. The resort initially replaced strikers with temporary employees from other resorts, sparking concerns about safety conditions on the mountain.

A tentative agreement has been reached through April 2027, addressing both parties’ interests. The union’s bargaining committee is set to ratify the deal in a vote scheduled for January 8. Park City Mayor Nann Worel and city council members called on the resort owner, Vail Resorts, to take immediate action to end the strike, citing “confusion and disruption” around town.
