Path of Exile 2 Parties Up Players with Randoms ‘Feature’

Grinding Gear Games has acknowledged a bug in Path of Exile 2 that parties players with random, uninvited members. The developer is calling it a “feature” that enhances social experience until the issue is fixed.

The action-RPG sequel launched into Early Access today and is facing server issues preventing many logins. However, this relatively minor bug has been a point of discussion among players. Grinding Gear’s suggestion that players should consider the random partying up as a positive aspect of the game has sparked amusement and confusion.

According to the developer’s tweet, “We’re aware of an issue with players in parties sometimes being placed into parties with other random players… Until we fix this, consider it a feature to enhance your social experience!” The studio is working on resolving the login issues for Steam users but no timeline has been provided for non-Steam platforms.

The bug’s impact is relatively minor compared to the more serious server issues affecting the game. Despite the developer’s attempt at humor, the suggestion that players should make new friends in this way may not sit well with some players.
