Path of Exile 2 Smashes Success with Half a Million Concurrent Players

Grinding Gear Games’ highly anticipated action role-playing game, Path of Exile 2, has exceeded expectations with over half a million concurrent players on Steam alone. The game’s Early Access launch saw a surge in popularity, despite initial server issues that prevented players from logging in.

Path of Exile 2 offers six character classes, each with two Ascendancy Classes, allowing players to choose their preferred playstyle. Co-op mode supports up to six players, but solo play is also an option. The game launched across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on December 6 and has since seen a significant increase in concurrent player count.

On Steam, Path of Exile 2 reached a peak of 578,569 concurrent players, placing it among the top five most-played games on the platform. Its all-time peak concurrents are expected to be even higher, potentially reaching the one million mark.

Players have praised the game with an overwhelmingly positive user review rating of 82% on Steam, with many reviewers enjoying the redefined action and endgame content. IGN’s Early Access review also returned an 8/10, praising the game’s start as “exciting” despite some rocky early access issues.
