For the second consecutive offseason, the New England Patriots are entering free agency with a new head coach in place. Mike Vrabel will attempt to bring the team back to relevance following three straight losing seasons.
The Patriots have ample resources at their disposal, including four top-100 selections and over $130 million to spend in free agency. The process is set to begin on March 10, when the legal tampering period opens, followed by the official start of free agency on March 12.
Key players include QB Jacoby Brissett, OL Ben Brown, and CB Alex Austin, who have all received tenders or will enter the open market. The Patriots are also reportedly interested in WR Chris Godwin and DE Deatrich Wise Jr., according to analysts.
On the other side of the equation, the Patriots released OT Chukwuma Okorafor and LB Sione Takitaki, with the latter being a member of the 2024 free agency class. The team has also expressed interest in acquiring WR DK Metcalf from the Seahawks.
With $130 million to spend, the Patriots are expected to be “aggressive” in free agency, according to head coach Mike Vrabel. Defensive linemen like Levi Onwuzurike and Milton Williams may be on the radar.
