Pawport has developed a smart dog door that connects to a Bluetooth tag strapped to your dog’s collar, allowing seamless entry and exit. The device features double doors with an RGB LED strip underneath, offering customizable lighting options.
The product was initially launched on Kickstarter in 2021 but is now back at CES with plans for mass production. Pawport aims to start shipping the door starting at $499, while a new weatherproof model will be available outside your house and paired with the indoor unit. This outdoor version starts at $399, requiring an additional indoor unit.
While not groundbreaking in its functionality, Pawport’s smart dog door boasts high-tech design features. Users can customize door styles with either plastic or aluminum options, both featuring steel frames beneath. The device is designed to fit on top of existing pet doors and comes in three sizes.
A companion app allows users to schedule entry and exit times and automatically adjusts for bad weather. Pawport plans to start shipping the smart dog door in early 2025.
