Pebblebee has launched its new Halo tracker, which doubles as a safety device with a built-in flashlight and siren alarm. The Halo is designed to improve personal safety, working with Android’s Find Hub network and Apple Find My, allowing users to track objects like bags. It also features a carabiner clip and charges via USB-C.
A key feature of the Halo is its ability to trigger a loud siren (130dB) and strobe light when separated from the base, serving as an accessible deterrent for potential threats. When activated, the Halo sends the user’s live location to trusted contacts through the Pebblebee app and offers a silent alert option.
In terms of design, the Halo is larger than other trackers like Clip 5 or AirTag but serves its purpose well. The device also includes a bright LED flashlight that can be turned on with a tap of the button, taking into account a slight delay to avoid blinding users.
The Pebblebee Halo costs $59.99, making it more expensive than typical item trackers. However, considering all features included – including its safety-focused Alert Live service for a year at an additional $24.99/year – it feels well worth the extra cost.
This marks a new chapter in Pebblebee’s mission to expand beyond item finding into personal protection and safety. The Halo is the first device with hardware specifically designed for this purpose, showcasing the company’s growing focus on practical tools for everyday life.
