The New Orleans Pelicans are trading former All-Star forward Brandon Ingram to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for guard Bruce Brown, center Kelly Olynyk, multiple draft picks, and a first-round pick. The trade, reported by multiple outlets, comes after Ingram’s season has been decimated by injuries.
Ingram, who was sidelined since December with a sprained ankle, averaged 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists when available. His production is similar to his new teammates, Scottie Barnes and RJ Barrett, giving Toronto one of the NBA’s most versatile trios.
The Raptors, meanwhile, have shown signs of life recently with eight wins in their past 11 games. Brown has averaged 8.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists after being dealt to the Raptors last January, while Olynyk has played in only 23 games this season due to injuries.
The Pelicans find themselves at the bottom of the Western Conference standings with a 12-39 record, limited by the absence of Zion Williamson and Dejounte Murray’s season-ending torn ACL.
