Penn State Football Makes History in College Playoff

Penn State will host No. 10 SMU in the first round of the College Football Playoff on December 21 at noon. The game, dubbed a “White Out,” marks the Nittany Lions’ first-ever appearance in the playoff.

Historically, Penn State and SMU have met three times, with the Nittany Lions holding a slight edge. Their most recent matchup in 1947 ended in a tie, while Penn State won in 1978 by a score of 26-21.

Season ticket holders who requested tickets by November 22 will see their credits processed today. A presale for football season ticket holders and Nittany Lion Club members begins December 9 at 10 a.m., followed by a public sale on the same day at 2:30 p.m. The 2024 Penn State season is presented by PSECU.
