People Can Fly Cancels Two Major Projects Amidst Financial Constraints

Poland-based developer People Can Fly has announced the cancellation of two major projects, Project Gemini and Project Bifrost. The news was shared by CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski in an X post.

The decision to cancel Project Gemini follows a lack of communication from publisher Square Enix regarding its willingness to continue or terminate the project. Additionally, the studio’s cash flow analysis revealed a limited prospect for securing resources and funds to complete the game.

Project Bifrost was also cancelled due to similar financial constraints. The studio had recognized the VR market as underdeveloped at the time of announcing the project, but ultimately found it unsustainable.

The cancellation comes after People Can Fly previously canceled Project Dagger, an action/adventure IP published by Take-Two. However, the team continues to work on other projects, including Gears of War: E-Day for Microsoft and a new game based on a Sony IP.
